Medical Writing

At LeQ Medical, we understand the issues surrounding medical writing and we believe that medical writing–when it is done properly–is a valuable and important service. About half of all federally funded research never gets published because physicians, scientists, and other experts simply do not have the time to jump through all of the hoops that it takes to translate a body of research into a succinct, publishable manuscript. That’s where we come in. Here is what we do:

  • We work with you or your team of authors to get their research or materials published
  • We assure that the entire article is written in the same voice and is appropriate for publications
  • We conduct supervised literature searches and assemble the bibliography for you (no more footnote hassles)
  • We work with you or your team of authors to get medical illustration, charts, graphs, and other work done which can greatly enhance the article
  • We provide total editing to make sure the article not only reads well but is formatted appropriately for the journal (every journal has its own rules)
  • We handle the entire submission process–no more uploading hassles or dealing with art issues
  • We make sure disclosures and acknowledgements are done properly and documented
  • We field reviewer input and act as your liaison with the journal

This is labor-intensive work and we do it right by assuring:

  • All of the appropriate authors are disclosed and no author is suppressed
  • Disclosures are appropriate and complete
  • All acknowledgements are made (which includes acknowledging us)
  • All authors have signed off on content and have had chance to review all content (not just their sections)
  • There is clear paperwork documenting which author(s) provided which content

This is not fast work–it can take six months or more from start to finish. But we are proud to say that we have provided medical writing  services for articles  published in many peer-reviewed journals. Some of those journals include:

  • Pain Practice
  • Current Medical Research & Opinion
  • Journal of Psychosomatic Research
  • Journal of Drug & Alcohol Dependence
  • Journal of Medicine
  • Journal of Current Pharmaceutical Design
  • Journal of Drug Delivery
  • European Journal of Pain
  • Expert Opinion on Pharmacotherapy
  • Journal of Pain Management Nursing
  • Anesthesiology Research & Practice

In addition, we have provided medical writing services for clinician-authored books:

  • Nuts & Bolts of Cardiac Pacing by Tom Kenny
  • Nuts & Bolts of ICD Therapy by Tom Kenny
  • Nuts & Bolts of Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy by Tom Kenny
  • Nuts & Bolts of Paced ECG Interpretation by Tom Kenny
  • Reduce Pain by Dr. Joseph Pergolizzi, Jr. (in press)

Every medical writing project is unique, and we welcome the opportunity to discuss your objectives with you. If you are involved with multiple articles, we can also assist you with publication tracking services. We are not a publication planner. We treat each assignment as a discrete project. Because of the nature of this type of work, we reserve the right to refuse to participate in any medical writing project for any reason, but in particular, if we are not confident that the highest ethical standards will be maintained.

So if you are ready to get published–contact us at 979-864-4479. We are particularly interested in working with international clients who wish to be published in English but are not confident of their linguistic skills or the publication process in the U.S.  We work with companies, individuals (physicians, nurses, clinicians, scientists) and organizations.
